After nearly three decades of working in an operating theatre environment, I wanted to help people outside of a hospital setting. I decided that by being true to myself and following my goal, I would also be helping people to become true to themselves too – and Being True To You was born.
As an experienced counsellor with a wealth of experience, I have also previously worked for many years as a volunteer for a mental health charity. I help people with a wide range of emotional difficulties, such as low self-esteem, depression and sexual identity. Through my counselling sessions, people have felt calmer, confident and in more control of their lives. I also have a specialist interest in Anxiety and Stress Management and Resilience Building.
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist
I am also a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist, which enables me to help more people and give my clients more opportunities to manage their emotional difficulties and very real, immobilising health conditions. This form of hypnotherapy can help people to improve their health by breaking self-destructive habits. Furthermore, being able to work with health-related problems therapeutically extends and complements my background working in health, as an Operating Department Practitioner.
How I will work with you
My focus is always on you and the best outcome for you; I give you the opportunity to speak in a safe, confidential place about any issues you may be facing. I work with adults (18 years+), helping them with a variety of different issues, both short term and long term. I promise that no matter who you are, what you have been through, or what you have done, you will always be treated with respect, empathy, compassion and understanding. Every enquiry is treated with the strictest of confidence and without any obligation.
In between sessions, I will give you a hypnotherapy recording to listen to, which means that you don’t have to wait until the next week to experience relaxation and you can continue to make progress. You can listen at any time that you wish, and the recording will reinforce the work that we do together, helping you to move forward.
I offer flexible appointments from 8am to 8pm, Monday to Thursday, Friday 8am to 3pm, Saturday 8am to 1pm. Please contact me to find out how I can help you achieve the life you deserve.
I am an Accredited Member of The General Hypnotherapy Register, a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and a member of the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council. I work within their code of conduct and adhere to their ethical frameworks.
